Angel Spassov
Before coming to the United States, Angel Spassov was a professor at the National Sports Academy in Bulgaria. A former Division B soccer player, Spassov served as conditioning coach for five World Cup Soccer Championships while also coaching the Bulgarian National Weightlifting Team from 1966 to 1998. In 1990 he earned an invitation to serve as a consultant at The University of Texas which resulted in Texas hiring him to a permanent role as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Women's Athletics Programs. Spassov also has worked extensively with football players on both the college and professional level, most recently assisting the NFL's St. Louis Rams during the offseason. He trains clients across all sports and of all levels.

 

Tony Capasso
Tony Capasso is in his fourth year as Assistant Soccer Coach at The University of Texas. The holder of an NSCAA Premier Diploma, his extensive experience includes playing time in the A League in the United States, the Canadian National Team, the Canadian U-20 Team, the 1996 Olympic Qualifying Team and as a two-year captain and All-American at the University of Notre Dame.

 

These two individuals have teamed up create their own soccer-specific resource advisory team. The unification of their working relationship was a natural outcome of their interest and love of the game of soccer
